How Data is Managed in Duoplane

06/09/2022

At Duoplane, your privacy, security, and backup options are our top priority. Whether you are a retailer or a vendor, a lot of important, confidential information is being shared with Duoplane every day. That is why we decided to create an article to let you know how all of your data is being stored, safeguarded, and backed up.

How and Where is System Data Being Backed Up?

Duoplane has two replicas of our database that are continuously updated in real-time. Separately, Duoplane developments maintain two daily backups.

Additionally, we have weekly and monthly backups which are maintained by 2 separate hosting companies in 3 different geographic locations.

Backing up your data is crucial because it acts as a secure archive for your important information. This information includes proprietary data, classified documents for your business, financial records, and much more. In the event of data loss, you can quickly return to this backed-up data and restore your device.

In The Event of a Hacker or Ransomware Attack Can Backed-Up Data Be Recovered?

A hacker or Ransomware attack is designed to deny users or businesses access to their files on their own computers. Often, these hackers corrupt files and demand a ransom payment in exchange for a decryption key.

To keep your data protected, we have various disaster recovery procedures in place and periodically run through the steps to ensure that we can recover a backup. Additionally, full copies are backed-up on Duoplane regularly via snapshots of the entire server or just the data.

What Protections Does Duoplane Have Against a Ransomware Attack or Hacking?

At Duoplane, our developers take every consideration to keep information secure and uncorrupted in the event of an attack. Here are some of the ways in which we do this:

Firstly, Duoplane database servers restrict access to local traffic (within the same network) from specific hosts. All servers are hardened with industry-standard techniques including firewalls and lookouts. Additionally, all data is encrypted in transit.

Servers are not accessible using passwords, they are only accessible by SSH keys. Importantly, infrastructure is only available to very few team members who fully understand security and strictly adhere to policies.

If you have any remaining questions or concerns about security and data protection in Duoplane, please reach out to us at support@duoplane.com.
