Ben Prager

09/13/2022

Ben has developed his professional experience around helping individuals and companies find solutions to their problems. He believes the numbers tell the story, as he graduated at the top of his class from his accounting program at St. Lawrence College.

Ben is joining Duoplane from customer facing roles in the Education and Aviation industries, and is excited to apply his consultative problem solving skills to the E-commerce space. When he is not at work, you will likely find him somewhere in South Eastern Ontario, exploring nature with his wife and two dogs, an Australian shepherd and a pug.

What do you do at Duoplane?

I help businesses understand how they can implement automation into their e-commerce operations. Most of my days are filled with calls from prospective clients, trying to understand what they want to achieve and if we would be a good fit for their goals.

What do you do in your spare time?

When I am not travelling with my wife, you can find me in my local community with our two dogs, Roxy and Pippa. I love the outdoors and frequently have a hard time deciding whether I want to go golfing or mountain biking during the summer. Recently, I have taken up playing pickleball, and I am interested to see how that also fits in my activity rotation.

Why are you excited to work at Duoplane?

I love being exposed to a wide range of businesses and the challenges they are facing. There is nothing more satisfying than helping someone streamline their fulfillment processes, regardless of if they are a sole proprietor or a publicly traded company.

What are some of your top skills?

Creative: I enjoy thinking outside of the box. Sometimes creativity can lead to far-fetched ideas but I have a knack for being able to identify what is realistic and what is whimsical.

Analytical: I thrive picking ideas apart and analyzing their components. Whether quantitative or qualitative, I get a kick out of understanding a problem through research.

Collaborative: Teamwork makes the dream work.” No, really, I am serious. Working in teams leads to the best results and outcomes every time. That’s not to say there aren’t challenges, but I enjoy getting to know team members and how to best engage with them on a project.

Leadership: I have taken on leadership roles and I have been led. I am always striving to become a better leader through opportunities for feedback and self-reflection.

Flexibility: Life can get messy, I get it. What we plan doesn’t always work out but I am quick to roll with the punches and help find the best new path forward.

What is something that most people do not know about you?

I love to try new things, especially if it is food. If I go to a restaurant and see something different on the menu, you can guarantee I will be ordering it.

What is something you are passionate about?

I am passionate about physical activity. There are so many things we can experience in our lifetime and taking care of ourselves is a proactive way of ensuring we can continue doing the things we enjoy the most.

What is your proudest achievement?

One of my proudest achievements would be re-learning to play the piano as an adult. I stopped playing the piano in my early teens and it bothered me, so I signed myself up for lessons and regained a skill I had thought I had lost..
